Whoa! Is that a Ferrari!?

I had to stop back at my work today (I know…ugh) to print out some photos I did for a client of mine this past weekend in Naples, FL. When I pulled in the Target parking lot, for the second time today, my brother said “Hey look! A Ferrari!” Oh. My. God!

There was an absolutely breathtaking Ferrari 430 Scuderia finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero alcantara sitting in the parking lot of Target. This particular Scuderia had the same color spec as the launch car, red exterior, grey stripes, gold wheels. It was perfect. I snapped a few iPhone photos and slightly tweaked them in Photoshop to share with you guys. I even waited outside for 10 minutes to get a chance to speak with the owner. He’s from Lake City, Florida, about 30 minutes north of Gainesville.

Introduced in 2007 by none other than Ferrari’s Formula 1 legend, Michael Schumacher, the 430 Scuderia is the hardcore version of the already potent F430. It uses lightweight carbon fiber and alcantara to reduce overall weight to a hair under 3,000 lbs. A stiffened suspension, slight boost in horsepower, carbon ceramic pizza-sized brakes, and the awesome F1-Superfast 2 gearbox help the 430 Scuderia lap the world famous Fiorano Circuit at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters in the same time as the mighty Enzo. I’ve seen quite a few Scuderias in my time, but there’s just something incredible about seeing them amongst other, “regular” cars. There was a tiny little Ford Escort parked next to the Scud, and the beautiful Italian masterpiece captures your complete attention even when you’re across the entire parking lot. I couldn’t help but stare.

It was rather comical to see the college girls running up and taking pictures with them standing by it, probably not realizing that the dealer markups for these cars in 2007 and 2008 had prices above $300,000. All in all I won’t forget seeing such an amazing supercar in the parking lot of a little college town in Florida. And if you like seeing all the supercar photos we post up on My Daily Drive then you’re in for a real treat. The entire My Daily Drive team will be on location at Ferrari-Maserati of Fort Lauderdale this Saturday for one epic event. We’ve planned a Cars & Coffee meet in the morning, followed by a supercar cruise with an expected 50 exotic cars, including a 24 mile drive to Markham Park for a group photoshoot. There will be absolutely no shortage of amazing photos.

Oh by the way…. Go Gators!

  1. Wow super cool find! I love seeing super cars out amongst us regular folk.
Nothing like having to pick up some odds and ends at target and saying to your self; “Hmm… I think I’ll take my Ferrari 430 Scuderia”. My guess is the owner was not buying anything bigger then a toaster.
