It was a blast to drive and practical in terms of cost per mile. Loved to take it to the weekend slaloms (C stock, if I remember correctly). Of course it too had the "egg shape" you talk about. Did not bother me then and does not bother me now too much, but I prefer the sedan body with a low trunk line. Trunk lids about at "gut/chest level" are worse than eggs ;).
