The awesome crew at My Daily Drive had exclusive access to the 2010 St. Pete Festivals of Speed Jet Port Reception Party on Friday April 9th, 2010. We loaded up the gear and headed to beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida not really knowing what to expect when we got there. The party was held in an airport hangar right across the street from MacDill Air Force Base. Getting out of the car we noticed huge big-rigs from Ferrari of Central Florida and some other exotic transports. The beautiful women walking up to the entrance and the supercars in the valet guaranteed that this wasn’t your average cocktail party. We flashed our media passes to the ladies working the door, stepped into the hanger, and just about walked into the back of a bright red Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster. Our kind of party!!!
We walked around a little and just took in all the sights before snapping some photos and grabbing some grub. There were cars, motorcycles, boats, and even private jets (!!!) inside the hangar. Catered food, beautiful paintings, shiny watches, and a man cruising around playing a saxophone, they had it all. There was around 20 cars inside the hangar, a few planes, and some bikes. Outside was a 2,400 horspower superboat. Yes, you read that correctly. Two thousand four hundred horsepower, in a boat. Ridiculous!
Here’s a few photos from outside, before the sun went completely down with some amazing ambient lighting. A few custom old school Lincoln Continental with suicide doors and some modern supercars highlight these photos. Oh, and the original Batmobile too!
After checking out the cars outside we spent some time inside. The music, lights, and beautiful women walking around set a great mood. The food was delicious, the bar was bangin’ , and our friends from Cafe Motorsport had their amazing new EXOTICO flavor for all the party-goers to sample. Overall the My Daily Drive crew couldn’t have been happier attending such an amazing event and we thank each and every person who helped organize the 2010 Jet Port Reception Party, especially Mr. Joe Sabatini, the president of the Festivals of Speed.
