A good friend and fellow car nut is looking to get into a new car. We talked about it and he told me that he wants something fun, sporty and with five or six speed manual transmission the total opposite of the little Toyota pick up truck he drives now.
He was looking at an older BMW but couldn’t find one in his price range with the sportiness he desired. He then started to look at the Subaru Impreza WRX. A terrific fun car 4WD, 230 HP with a five speed tranny, all the goodies he was looking for . For the year, he was looking at car from around the 2006 era. With that age car the prices should be low, the miles should be low, too hopefully. And the car that was released that year was amazing.

I was thinking of recommending other cars to him; Maybe a Mini Cooper? A Ford Mustang? Audi A4? But he has his heart set on a good old Subaru Impreza.
To me, its one of those emotion and satisfaction things- if you don’t get the car you want you are all ways going to regret it. So, I went on Autotrader.com to help him out and try and find the car he wants. He, as we all now know, was looking for a Subaru Impreza. Either a regular WRX or even the uber rally machine the STi if there was one available.
He was looking for a car that has been lightly used. The problem is with a car like that is a lot of “enthusiasts” we’ll call them buy the car and then go to work on ‘em. Driving them hard (too hard) modding them out (can we say giant turbo’s with turbo timers), abusing the cars so much that at 35k miles in the car is worn out! Too much neglect and abuse is bad for any car. Especially a high strung tuner special like the WRX.
Now that I had the criteria for what he was looking for its just a matter of finding the right car. He was looking online for cars in the Miami / South Florida area but sometimes you have to look far and wide for the car of your dreams. To help him out I went back to Autotrader.com and searched 500 miles from where we are and I found a rockin’ car in Atlanta.

I think my friend is going to call them today to get some details on the car.
He invited me to go with him if he decides to get it.
