On Saturday October 2nd, 2010 I made the drive out to Sebring International Raceway to attend a trackday held by the National Auto Sport Association, or NASA for short. I’ve been to Sebring once before and I had a great time shooting, so when I found out about another trackday that fit into my schedule I couldn’t pass it up. Trackdays like these are typically free for spectators and you get full access to the pits, which can be pretty cool. I spent about 5 hours shooting, all by myself, and probably walked a few miles in and around the track under the beating sun and 90 degree Florida heat. The world famous 3.7 mile road circuit is home to the historic 12 Hours of Sebring, held every March.

What’s up everyone!?! How have you guys been? I had a pretty slow September when it comes to autos. With the start of Gator Football (YEAH 4-0 BABY!!!) I’ve been kind of strapped down up here in Gainesville. Well, I guess you can’t really say that watching games in person at the best stadium in America with 90,000 other people is “strapped down”… October though is going to be a special, special month for me. As of right now I have two photoshoots booked, I’ll be shooting at two trackdays (Sebring International Raceway this coming Saturday and Palm Beach International Raceway, aka PBIR, on the 23rd), I’ll be going down to Orlando again for their monthly Cars & Café, AND I have weekend long media credentials to the Festivals of Speed Orlando, but you already know that ;-) (more…)

In just over a month from now Orlando, Florida will turn into supercar Heaven. From October 8th through October 10th the Festivals of Speed will be hosting their exclusive weekend of fancy parties, hot cars, a golf tournament, and some unforgettable memories.  You may remember our coverage from St. Petersburg, Florida of the Friday Night Jet Port Reception party back in April. We had special VIP Media access to bring you highlights from that night, and we have the same media credentials in Orlando. That’s right, the My Daily Drive crew will be in beautiful Orlando from Friday afternoon all the way until Sunday evening. We’ve been receiving updates from the Festivals of Speeds’ media department so I thought I’d share some news with you.

By now I’ve realized that without fail something pretty amazing will show up at the monthly Orlando Cars & Café hosted by the Orlando Automotive Club and our good friends at Café Motorsport. The very first time I made the trip to O-Town I got to see the not-yet-on-sale Spyker Aileron, which was only the second time it was in the U.S. Back in May I got to see a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R for the first time in person. That one was special because I have an unconditional love for all things Skyline. This time, however, even I couldn’t believe what showed up. For the first time in the history of Cars and Café, or Cars and Coffee as they call it around the country, the only Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport “Sang Bleu” made a grand appearance. I will repeat… the ONLY Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport “Sang Bleu” in the entire world, as in Number 1 of 1, ever!
