When Champion Motorsport, a well known aftermarket automotive parts and tuning company, announced on several online message boards that they will be hosting a free track session at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) in Jupiter, Florida, the reception was massive. This was Champion’s way of thanking all of their loyal customers and a way to give back to everyone who has supported them. Have you ever been driving down the road, or taking stroll along the sidewalk when some crazy kind of supercar or old school muscle car rolls up. You know what I’m talking about, when you can hear it before you can see it. I know you know. It’s happened to all of us, whether we realize it or not. It’s happened to me plenty, and 9 out of 10 times I don’t have my Nikon DSLR with me. So what do you do when you can hear something that sounds upwards of $200,000 approaching and you don’t have your camera on you? Easy, you pull out your phone. My weapon of choice for the last 11 months has been an Apple iPhone 3GS. It’s been a perfect pocket companion. As soon as I hear a sexy exhaust note I grab it, and I’ve gotten some pretty sweet shots so far. I thought I’d share some photos with you, some are from car shows, some are not. And be sure to click on all the links under the photos for the complete high-res galleries with the real camera ;)
