This past Saturday morning I made the 2 hour, slightly boring trip to Sanford, FL (basically outside Orlando) for the Orlando Automotive Club’s monthly Cars & Cafe meet at The Route 46 Entertainment District. This is the third C&C meet I’ve been to so far and they all have been great. It’s always nice to see some familiar faces and get the opportunity to meet some new ones. Our good friends at Cafe Motorsport were there as usual giving out some amazing samples of their newest flavors of coffee.
Most of the cars that were there are regulars, but a few surprises always seem to pop up every so often. Most notably this month was a beautiful silver Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren. It was parked in the middle of the supercar hangout, surrounded by a couple Lamborghinis, Porsches and a V10 Audi R8. The SLR is a rare supercar, so it’s pretty cool to see one out in public and not tucked away in someones garage with a cover over it. This one even had bugs on the front after the owner drove it from Lakeland, FL to attend the June C&C. That’s what I call dedication!
Two of Japan’s finest Nissan Skylines from the ’90s came out, a brilliant black Lamborghini Countach had its scissor doors pointing to the sky for everyone to go gaga over, and a pair of Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1’s made it out this month.
The prettiest Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera in the world was there as usual. I just can’t get enough of Ron’s SL, especially with those gloss black HRE wheels and lime green brake calipers. Delicious! Matt’s muscular Dodge Viper was parked in between the black Countach and a bright yellow 2010 Camaro SS. And one of my personal favorites from this month’s meet was hiding in the back parking lot. An awesome Audi A4 had some nice touches to it and a set of roof racks that had me drooling over. I’m not quite sure what it is about them, but roof racks are hot, and I don’t care what anyone tells me!
A gentleman who was supposed to be taking delivery of a Mosler supercar before the meet was a little unhappy when the delivery got pushed back a few days, so instead he just brought out his gorgeous Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder. The OAC crew told us that the Mosler will be the feature car at the July Cars & Cafe. We’re doing everything in our power to make it back to Orlando for that meet. Here are a few more photos and if you’re ever in the Orlando area we recommend stopping by the Orlando Automotive Club’s monthly Cars & Cafe meet, always the last Saturday of the month.
