- Part one: The meet up at Lamborghini of Miami -
My friend and fellow MyDailyDrive.com writer Peter said to me last fall; “super car weekend is awesome you can’t miss it. More super cars in one place than you can see anywhere else! Every thing from a Jaguar XJ 220 to a Ferrari FXX.”
You know what? He was right on the money.
The name has been changed from “Super Car Weekend” to the “Super Car Experience”. The founders of the event realized they have more then two full days of events. From a media day on Wednesday, to a track night on Friday and the big show on Saturday, there was a lot to see and experience. So much to see I wasn’t gonna miss it. So I made some call’s and got my ass in gear to see what this super car experience thing is all about
Needing a skilled driver and a second set of eyes I took on this super car experience with MyDailyDrive.com team member j2. Our super car adventure started bright and early Saturday morning.
[Rant] Why is it that everything that has to do with super cars is bright and early in the morning? Don’t super car folks go out clubbing and, you know to bars, hanging out until all hours of the morning? How about just an evening out for a drink or two? You’d think they all just crash out fall asleep at 10 PM so they can get up early the next day and drive. I guess they do, but I digress, looks like I need to work on my internal clock. And drink more coffee.
Any hoo back to the cars… yes it was bright and early Saturday morning, j2 and I had been invited to convene for breakfast at Lamborghini of Miami along with super car owners from all over South Florida. If you haven’t been to check it out Lamborghini of Miami is a beautiful facility with some amazing cars in the show room. Now, word was “some” cars were going to meet at Lambo Miami and drive up to Palm Beach together in a little caravan. I thought hey that would be nice and fun, a quaint little morning drive with some exotics, plus I’d be able to get some cool shots for all of you. Little did I know what was in store…
As time got closer for us to depart more and more amazing cars kept coming. Including a richus and ruckus Ferrari F40, that looked and sounds like a full on race car, a 700 HP white Nissan GT-R, a matte black Lamborghini Mercaliago SV and a group of Lamborghini Gallardo’s in a varity of colors. Those Lambo designers just have a blast with there ultra bright colors and you know what? I love it. Click the link below to check out all my pix from our breakfast at Lamborghini of Miami. This post which is part one of my three part series from my super car weekend adventure. More to come tomorrow!
