Star sighting! Yes, Dr. McDreamy himself- Patrick Dempsey- was in the house. Up on the box monitoring the action at Homestead Miami Speedway (HMS). As some but not all of you know Dr. Derek Shepard err…I mean Patrick Dempsey stars in a little show called “Grey’s Anatomy.” Its about doctors- I think a few people watch it. Its cool Patrick, I know you gotta work to pay the bills.
I know that when not acting and being a family man racing is his passion. Co-owner of Vision Racing since 2006 Dempsey first bonded with Vision Racing owners Tony and Laura George after attending the 2004 Indianapolis 500.
Their relationship flourished and currently he races professionally in the GT class sports car racing with Hypersport. He competed in the 2009 grand American sports car series Rolex at Daytona.
Like many of us he grew up a racing fan. Unlike many of us he was able to make his dreams of being a professional racer come true.
Thanks Dr. McDreamy for showing us that the dream can come true for a car-racing fan, he can actually become a racing car driver!
