After getting a quick look at Danica Patrick’s car we continued our walk through the pits. We got to see Allex Lloyd’s Newman / Haas / Lanigan Racing Indy car getting prepped for the race. After that we saw Tony Kanaan’s 7-11 Slurpee car getting worked on. Surprisingly there were no slurpies around, nor was Tony there, but it was still cool to see his ride up close. It was a very interesting peek into how the teams worked getting ready for a big race. It was also interesting to see what the cars looked like with their various body work scattered about. We got to see the nitty-gritty of [...]

Quick rant! So the for all of time – or as long as I have been paying attention- there has been a tuner battle between the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution “Evo” and the Suburu Impreza WRX STI. Both are Japanese produced famly cars on steroids. Beefed up with big turbos, big red breaks, and big bad body styling that brings a smile to boys of all ages. The ultimate goal in this extra macho machinery is to create the ultimate vehicle for rally racing- something that Europeans do. More or less its diving like a bat outta hell as fast as you can on sometimes dirt, sometimes snow, sometimes public roads. [...]

I spotted this electric 2006 Evo IX (9) in a parking lot in South Miami. I love this car! I’ve been a fan of the Evo ever since I learned what it was about. Probably back around the Fast and Furious sequel: 2 Fast 2 Furious back in 2003 (shot in Miami). The star car was a pretty goofy looking 4 door. Big wing, lime green, boxy and pretty mundane looking- even with the cool graphics and Eva Mendes in the passenger seat. I knew there had to be something to this car since it was the star car of the movie. I did some research and came across this [...]

Way back in 2008 Ford introduced a version of their ever loved retro sexy Mustang. They produced a special version for those serious car movies bufs’. The Bullitt mustang! I caught these shots of one driving down to The Falls mall in Miami. Before the Fast and the Furious, before (insert other car movie here – but know that there is no better car movie(s) then the fast and furious series) there was Bullitt. Detective Frank Bullitt was played by a steely eyed Steve McQueen. His brooding character didn’t talk much, but his actions spoke volumes. Especially behind the wheel. His car, the “good guy / hero car” was a Dark [...]

The newest Fast and Furious movie interestingly titled “Fast and Furious” is amazing. Truly a car action orgy of loud engines, oiled up plot lines, sexy girls, buff guys, and incredibly believable high octane stunts. But, if you’re reading this blog, you know that already. You’ve seen the movie and have been waiting with bated breath for the DVD to come out with all its awesome “Special Features.” Cause at heart all car guys are movie buffs, don’t lie, you know you love movies. With Universal studio’s intense advertising campaign on all the guy channels (Speed, Spike, History, HGTV … wait, err, maybe that last one is just me) every [...]
