Once again the My Daily Drive crew had an invitation to attend another premier for a brand new car. This time it was the official South Florida launch party for the new Ferrari 458 Italia. We did check it out a few days earlier at The Collection in Miami (check out Jesse’s coverage and mega gallery here), but this party was the real deal. The awesome crew at My Daily Drive had exclusive access to the 2010 St. Pete Festivals of Speed Jet Port Reception Party on Friday April 9th, 2010. We loaded up the gear and headed to beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida not really knowing what to expect when we got there. The party was held in an airport hangar right across the street from MacDill Air Force Base. Getting out of the car we noticed huge big-rigs from Ferrari of Central Florida and some other exotic transports. - The Event – The Super Car Experience Car Show.
After the exhilarating ride up to West Palm Beach it was time for the show. We parked, walked up to the side entrance and got our media credentials. Meanwhile all of the cars that were on the drive up with us were actually in the car show, they were in a different area checking in.
We didn’t know it at the time, but we had a rolling preview of what was to come.
- Part two: the drive -
Now this was our first time to an event like this so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. Was it going to be a parade of uber rare and racy exotics? Single file up the highway Rose Bowl parade style? Or, more of a free form sprinted drive of sorts? We were soon to find out. Our team leader had announced the time we were heading north.
