Not really a fair comparison at all. It doesn’t even make any sense, but it is fun to watch. Just a recap of the hard numbers:
Bugatti Veyron has 1001 HPW
Nissan GT-R has 480 HPW
Bugatti Veyron go’s 0-60 in 2.5 Sec
Nissan GT-R 3.5 Sec
Bugatti Veyron has a top speed of 253 MPH
Nissan GT-R has a top sped of 196 MPH
Bugatti Veyron cost: $1,700,000
Nissan GT-R cost: $83,040
Considering the difference in price the the GT-R still wins in my book!
If 0-60 time is a 1 second difference that means for just $1,616,960 you can go 1 second faster 0-60.
Or you could buy a house… maybe 2 houses, and a boat? You could also have a plane.
So, for 1 second faster you can have a car that costs as much as a whole lifetime’s worth of toys, homes and other various treats.
…but for those who have the money there’s no other way to go!
I scower craigs list every day looking for a Bugatti in my price range.
I think this might be the only one though!
It’s still a very fun video to watch for all who ever wanted to see this race actually happen. Now all we have to do is wait for the JDM tuners to have their way with the all new Nissan GT-R and see just how much it costs to make one faster than a Bugatti Veyron. My guess is its less than $1,616,960.
